For more than 60 years, Werts Welding & Tank Service, Inc. has been known as an industry leader for tank trailer equipment and service. Headquartered in the greater St. Louis area with eight locations across the US, Werts Welding is a family-owned-and-operated business focused on quality products and service and unmatched customer satisfaction.
Werts Welding’s previous website was out-of-date, unresponsive and unprepared to meet the demands of their continuously growing customer base. They needed an updated, mobile-responsive website that better showcased and allowed customers to browse their products, services and locations. With the poor rankings of their previous site, they were also interested in a website that was better optimized for key search terms, driving more traffic and potential customers to their site than before.
The goals for the new website were clear: make it easier to use for existing customers and team members, and drive additional new traffic and potential leads to the site. By implementing analytics tracking, something missing from their previous site, we would be able to monitor and report on the new site’s performance for these metrics and more.
A visual and developmental design refresh was long overdue for the Werts Welding site. The new site needed to look and behave modernly, so we gave it a sleek new desktop and mobile-responsive UX design.
The Werts Welding team feels strongly that the core of their business lies in the actual products they sell, trailers they service, locations they operate and the people who make up their team, and they wanted their new website to reflect this. That’s just one of the reasons they enlisted Timmermann Group for an additional custom photography project to pair with the website build. By using photos of their actual locations and employees instead of stock, the new website effectively highlights their team and builds trust in their brand.
Even if you do not aim to sell products directly on your website, it is still wise to follow ecommerce best practices when showcasing products. We were able to execute on this for Wert’s Welding through featuring trucks for sale with images and specifications in an intuitive and user-friendly manner. We also included a call to action for users to further inquire about purchasing. This functionality did not exist on the previous site, so this was an impactful addition that created new sales opportunities and pathways for conversion.
Within two months of launching the new site, we identified increases in a number of key metrics. More users than ever were coming to the site, many from organic search. Users were spending more time on the site and looking at more pages on the site as well. Comparing goal completions from the month of launch to the next, both phone calls and contact form submissions more than doubled.
With an improved and optimized site, Werts Welding was able to meet more of their ideal target audience right where they are— searching for their products and services. Their website’s featured custom imagery and updated design enhances the customer experience and works as a sales tool, driving business in ways it has never done before. More people are actively engaging with their website, and doing so in a way that indicates improved interest and a more qualified audience. Continuing to grow their customer base and better serve their existing clientele is now easier than ever and gives our client more time to focus on the quality of their service and products.
“We approached Timmermann Group to help us build and launch a new website and the experience couldn’t have been better. They took us through every step of the website build process and even provided custom photography of our facility, products and our team at work. Our new website shows off our products and services, performs well, and truly captures the essence of our brand. Since the website’s launch, we are seeing improved rankings on Google and a steady increase in website traffic. I appreciate Timmermann Group’s proactive approach toward digital marketing and I look forward to working with them more in the future.”
