Missouri Charter Public School Association
The Missouri Charter Public School Association (MCPSA) is a membership organization committed to ensuring that all Missouri families have equitable access to high-quality public charter schools where students can thrive. As the leading voice for the state’s charter school community, MCPSA offers resources, support, and advocacy tools to member schools, prospective and current families, and communities.

The Challenge
Missouri Charter Public School Association approached Timmermann Group as a non-profit marketing agency to redesign, develop, and launch a new website. They were looking for a website to provide their users with local charter school information, relevant administration deadlines, resources for MCPSA members, and advocacy tools. Additionally, as an organization supporting charter schools, the website needed to be built in adherence to industry and ADA-compliant best practices.
How TG Helped
Timmermann Group partnered with MCPSA to develop a fully customized WordPress website, which required a scalable platform to support content updates, an events calendar, and resource sharing.

Custom Development
The TG development team began identifying solutions to meet the client’s technical requirements. These findings were compiled into a Development Plan outlining our recommendations for the technical requirements for MCPSA’s site functionality. This included a reimagined school locator that was mobile-friendly and easy to use.

Content Strategy
Timmermann Group conducted a content audit to assess existing materials and identify gaps. Much of the previous website’s content was locked behind a member portal, which the MCPSA wanted to remove. We developed a new site architecture that was easy to navigate and allowed users to quickly and easily find the information they needed, whether members, legislators, or parents from the community. Updated page strategies helped organize the MCPSA message to craft a more compelling story that assisted user flow throughout the site.

UX/UI
The new website needed to be AA Accessible, making UX/UI essential for the new MCPSA website. We paid special attention to color contrast across the site, ensuring that the design aligned with their brand as well as felt bright and approachable without sacrificing readability.

Visual Design
Our design team worked to give the new website a more modern and professional look while retaining brand aesthetics and a friendliness that would appeal to families in the community. MCPSA provided TG with a library of photos showcasing the lives impacted by Missouri charter schools, so we wanted to feature these across the website rather than use stock photography.
