What Success Looks Like In This Role

  • SEO Strategy That Drives Conversions: Develop and execute SEO strategies that go beyond rankings and traffic, instead focusing on generating qualified leads, revenue growth, and measurable business outcomes, including:
    • Keyword research rooted in user intent and conversion potential
    • On-page optimization aligned with UX and engagement best practices
    • Off-page authority building and link acquisition
    • Technical SEO (crawlability, site performance, indexation)
    • Local and multi-location SEO strategy
    • Schema implementation and SERP feature optimization
  • Implement Strategic Recommendations: Translate SEO strategy into timely, high-impact actions that move the needle. Write clear content / technical briefs, validate implementation, and ensure execution drives measurable performance improvements.
  • Connect SEO to Leads and Revenue: Align SEO KPIs with real business goals such as form fills, phone calls, booked appointments, and ultimately revenue. Partner with clients and internal teams to ensure organic traffic contributes meaningfully to pipeline growth and to the bottom line.
  • Manage Workloads Effectively: Balance multiple client accounts in a fast-paced agency environment, ensuring priorities are aligned with business impact and projects stay on track.
  • Be a True Client Partner: Serve as a proactive, consultative, and client-facing strategist who confidently leads SEO conversations, business reviews, and roadmap planning. Translate complex SEO concepts into clear business language and guide clients toward smart, long-term growth decisions.
  • Multi-Location Growth Strategy: Develop scalable SEO strategies for multi-location and franchise businesses, optimizing location pages, local visibility, and Google Business Profiles while balancing national brand consistency with local market growth.
  • Test and Optimize for ROI: Apply a test-and-learn approach to continuously refine tactics. Evaluate traffic quality, landing page performance, and conversion impact—not just rankings—to improve the value to clients.
  • Identify Growth Opportunities: Proactively uncover new visibility, ranking, and conversion opportunities.
  • Monitor the Competitive Landscape: Evaluate client and competitor performance data to inform strategic pivots and uncover untapped opportunities.
  • Deliver Data-Driven Insights: Analyze keyword trends, traffic shifts, engagement metrics, and conversion data to provide forward-looking recommendations that tie SEO performance directly to business KPIs.
  • Produce Executive-Ready Reporting: Interpret data in GA4, Looker Studio, or similar tools to clearly demonstrate organic contribution to leads, revenue, and overall business growth.
  • Collaborate Across Channels for Unified Success: Partner closely with PPC, UX, Development, and other internal teams to ensure SEO efforts align with fully integrated marketing flywheels, improve the user experience, and maximize cross-channel performance.
  • Mentor and Develop Others: Provide guidance, feedback, and knowledge sharing to help Specialists and interns improve their craft and strategic thinking.
  • Champion Innovation and Best Practices: Stay current on algorithm updates, AI-driven SERP changes, emerging tools, and automation opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Contribute to Agency Visibility: Support thought-leadership initiatives, such as blogs and webinars, that showcase the agency’s SEO expertise.
  • Work Flexibly: Primarily work remotely, camera-ready from your dedicated workspace, meeting with clients and internal teams regularly. Collaborate and connect in person, as needed, at our St. Louis HQ.

What Sets You Up for Success

  • Ability to meet at TG headquarters in St. Louis, MO, as needed.
  • 4–6+ years of hands-on SEO experience with demonstrated strategy execution and measurable business results
  • Thrives in an agency environment, managing multiple clients across core industries
  • Proven ability to own client outcomes using SEO to drive lead generation, pipeline growth, and revenue impact
  • Ability to prioritize competing initiatives and make confident strategic recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO (crawlability, Core Web Vitals, schema, indexation)
  • Strong on-page and off-page SEO execution (metadata, internal linking, link building)
  • Ability to prioritize SEO initiatives based on business return, not just search volume
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with UX, development, analytics, PPC, and content teams
  • Proficiency in tools like Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, GA4, and Looker Studio
  • Confident in leading client-facing SEO strategy discussions and reporting presentations
  • Skilled at simplifying complex SEO concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing SEO for multi-location or franchise businesses
  • Strong understanding of local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret GA4 data and attribution models
  • Leadership mindset with willingness to mentor and guide junior team members
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Up to date on Google algorithm updates, SERP changes, and SEO trends
  • Experience with content management systems like WordPress and Shopify
  • Understanding of web development concepts and the ability to communicate effectively with developers
Nice to Have
  • Schema deployment via Google Tag Manager
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and SEO (WCAG/ADA compliance)
  • SEO reporting automation
  • Comfort representing the agency in external thought leadership (webinars, blogs, etc.)
  • Exposure to or experience with Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)
  • Front-end or back-end development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or similar)
